Michele Franceschin, a sales agent in the agro-pharmaceutical industry, founded CDM in 1987, after deciding to expand the logistics activity that had been running alongside his main activity as an agent/dealer (the famous agent with warehouse) for five years.
He recognised the logistical challenges faced by the sector, particularly the importance of timely deliveries, and decided to establish a separate business to address these challenges. He saw his company’s location in the agricultural hub of the North-East region of the country as a competitive advantage.
In the 1990s, the available space was no longer sufficient, and the sector’s regulations imposed ever-higher performance criteria. When Seveso II was published in 1999, CDM responded by building a new warehouse in Cimadolmo, one of the first in Italy to be completely classified as REI180.
The company is founded on the principles of compliance and far-sightedness, which were also incorporated into the design of the new warehouse.
Alberto Franceschin, Michele’s son, joined the company in 2000, and his daughter Laura in 2008, so CDM remains a family business, but with a highly skilled team of HSE consultants, logistics experts, and sales network professionals with 30 years of experience in selling and distributing chemical products.
